I first ate granola about 50 years ago. When I was a child, it was all about hot oatmeal, cream of wheat, and sugar-loaded cold cereals. Granola seemed to open up a whole different breakfast experience, but somehow, it was not as satisfying as I thought it should be. Then some friends of mine gave me some granola they had made themselves, and it suddenly hit me…people make their own granola! 

So, since I was a pretty good cook and baker, I thought, why not try my hand at making my own?  I looked up a recipe and my granola making journey began.

I immediately noticed my own granola tasted better and was more wholesome than most granolas on the market. So, I carried on making it. I made it and ate it and began gifting it, and everyone seemed to like it...a lot!

Over the years I've experimented with different combinations of nuts and fruits.

I began gifting this homemade granola wherever I worked, as well as giving it to my friends and family, as holiday gifts, or simply as a token of love.  I was coasting along for years, and years, and years! I mean I had this granola thing down pretty pat!

Then I met Samantha, and we fell in love and got married. She is a baker of sweet and savory English pies, so naturally I was excited to share my granola with her, only to discover she has a nut allergy. So, I had to start making my granola NUT-FREE and a new granola recipe was born.

With Samantha’s help and guidance, I recreated my trademark Granola; it became nut free, gluten free and vegan, as well as mostly organic.  I discovered that a touch of cardamom, plus a few other key ingredients that Samantha recommended catapulted my granola to another level. I was baking and gifting hundreds of bags a month.

Samantha suggested selling it in her bakery and tea store, so that's what we did, and the bags would fly off the shelves. It became a hot commodity!

Samantha then encouraged me to put my granola out there in the marketplace, so here it is!

In keeping with the gifting/giving theme, there's a space on the bag for your own, personal message, should you be gifting the granola. For our part we will be giving $1 a bag sold to The SAG-Aftra Foundation in support of the actor's strike.
